A top experience, a must do!
Can’t find enough superlatives to describe the wonderful experience we had on our visit on Friday. Fabulous exhibits, history and much more besides. The stories of the curator brought the place alive. The lovely ladies in the kitchen preparing and serving great home made food and baking. Robbie’s book. All excellent and an important Scottish collection which must make the people involved really proud. Left with a spring in my step after a great few hours.
On display in our current Brides exhibition: Thes On display in our current Brides exhibition:

These three beautiful dresses illustrate the simple elegance of the end of the Edwardian era and the years immediately after the Great War.

The introduction of satin both plain and ribbed allowed these exquisite trains to become to highlight of many dresses of this time!

In our current exhibition on Brides is this group In our current exhibition on Brides is this group of elegant calf-length dresses which illustrate the introduction of a new approach to the Twenties: the form changes to show the confident exuberance as in the two shorter pieces hanging up. The dress on the left in this photo was worn in Dalry in 1926.
