Our Ayrshire Whitework exhibition is up and running in our first floor gallery! Come and see the exquisite christening robes and other lace items on display! The exhibition is running until September.

    Hello. We will be visiting Scotland in September. I was wondering what the dates of your 2 clothing exhibits are? From and to dates so I can see if they will be available when we will be in your particular area of Scotland. Thank you

    Thanks for getting in touch. We don’t have an end date for the Exhibitions at the moment so they will both still be running at least until the end of the month. Hope you can make it to the Museum during your visit.

    Hi there..do you have any information about the Fenwick weavers. I’m doing some research in relation to an arts project and would apply any links or information.

    Hi Lynda – sorry for the delayed reply: we were asking around!

    We don’t know of any specific information on the Fenwick Weavers other than what a Google search turns up. You’ve probably already done this, but a Google book search throws up a lot of brief mentions of the Fenwick Weavers Society, so a few possible sources there. Not sure where you’re based, but one of the volunteers suggested a visit to the Mitchell Library in Glasgow to consult their very knowledgeable reference staff. In particular, the Glasgow City Archives based in the Mitchell might have some documents you could consult – unfortunately their index isn’t available online, so you would have to visit in person.
